Dimiss

Dimiss

A Poem by Ky
"

The Tao exists within all things and without all things. The Tao is!

"

Dismiss the need

Dismiss the want

All regret cast away

Reduce your world

To a flickering candle

Dismiss the candle

Hold the flame

Breath

Cast away the flame

Embrace the Tao

I'm a big fan of traditional Chinese lit. and philosophy, so I had to check out this poem and I think it's something that Lao-tzu would approve of lol. Reading this poem, like reading the Tao te Ching, forces the reader to grasp the essence of what the Tao is by presenting them with contradictions and mysterious phrasing. At first, it can be a bit of an evasive concept, and this poem is evasive too. I love how you proceed from the broadest elements of human existence (want and need) and get down to the candle, before removing it and the flame too...it all feels so wise.

Very interesting read. I liked the content and the thought behind this piece.
Keep writing.
