Whose Hand Will He Ask For?

Whose Hand Will He Ask For?

A Poem by Scarlet Pulse

For so long she was the one

He would marry

She knew this in confidence

Like the back of her hand

She knew him

And him her

Discovering new wonders

Of each other

Living

Every moment

Every breath

As she rewinds, glances at her life

A feeling

Failure, overwhelms her

Heart

Unsure of who she’s become

In his eyes

Does she remain as his need, his desire?

Love so strong

Only aspire contentment

For him

Let him go?

So he might find

The one

Meant for her is him

I don't know. When something feel right. If release things may change on both sides of the coin. I believe hold on tight because when it is good. Best days of a life and we need those memories to keep us going and positive. A very good poem. You made me think tonight. Thank you.

Her struggle is a bit confusing to me...I think the poem is really lacking something. I get her looking back, and reassessing her image in his eyes; I guess the lack of a conclusive ending is throwing things off. We never really find out what he thinks. I like the way the last stanzas interact. So he might find [space] the one. The one meant for her is him. The construction here is good; however, the meaning is unclear. Great job overall!
