You buy you time
Hoping to kill
It only takes time
Soft nothings
You filled my ear
Ripped out my heart
Left me in tears

On sun lit waters
Did we ride
Only to find
The lesson of time
If only I knew
What you knew back then
I would have ran
Never let you in

Beautiful friendship
Could have been more
Why would I try
Just to be called a w***e
I gave up my longing
As you gave up me
Now all that is left
Are filthy pieces of me

Innocent lust
Is what it's been called
Yet it was so much more
Until you let me fall
Fed me your lies
Straight to my face
Now I am left
My steps to retrace

Feelings, mistakes and regret. That's what I see when I read this poem. Being destroyed little by little is sad. Retracing our steps will help us in the future and make us stronger than before. A life lesson to learn.
