On reflection.

On reflection.

A Poem by Beccy
"

Just a bit of fun.

"

On the concept of perceptual relativity
I know little and care even less,
but this face is considerably handsome
and quite suits me; I'm bound to confess.

The puzzle of course, is who is it?
though 'tis very familiar to me,
and each time I pass by a particular spot
it's the first blessed thing that I see.

Now I'm just a cat, not some boffin
with enough intellectual skill,
to figure out why we so perfectly match,
when we stand, or sit down or keep still.

For my forte is purring and pouting
and preening myself day and night,
with occasional foray when dusk falls,
for romance, or perhaps a good fight.

So I shall just prowl on regardless,
which is what a cat does, more or less;
But this face is considerably handsome,
and quite suits me, I'm bound to confess.

On observing a friend's cat doing several double
takes as she passed by a mirror in the hall. It was
both fascinating and funny.

Why Beccy, you are spoiling us. Cat's and poetry, two my favourite things in one place! This made smile, and you captured the haughty splendour of those magnificent animals very well!

great fun poem, Beccy thought the photo was great, my cat thinks she is Kato from the Pink Panther movies, I always grab a smile when I get the chance and smile I did

I've just smiled then laughed and am still laughing, Beccy, dear friend! Seems this is emotional poetry morning.. a variety of nudges into - perhaps, feelings firmly controlled in this present time. Words have a way of reminding us.. me- for sure, that laughter, smiles, giggles are still the best plasters for recovering that lil something that fades every so often! Although I have dogs, do love cats.. they're inscrutable creatures who do walk past mirrors or glass and see creatures they didn't know existed.. perhaps. I read a book long ago called 'Jenny', the author's name escapes me right now. but, dear goodness, its author must have studied cats for ages, must have.. glorious insights Your core thought in in a similar vein -m and both charming and fun. Hope all's well in your world, that you and your luverly lad are keeping safe and sound. Love and all.. xx (

Had to check... here we are..
This is the story of a young boy called Peter, who is knocked down by a car. To his considerable astonishment, when he recovers, he is not a young boy, but a cat! Fortunately, he meets Jennie, a cat who had been abandoned by her family when they moved away, who educates him in the wiles of the feline world.

Ha, in my head, that cat had Joey from friends voice and was thinking "lookin' good dude" 😀
In reality though, it was probably thinking how nice it was of its pet human to go to the bother of placing it just where they wanted it to go, but hoping that it didn't interfere with this whole "free food" thing they've got going.
Itmust be nice being a cat. No job tying them down, or bills to worry about. Just doing what thety were born to, with the ocassional rub against their leg to keep them in line.
How did they get it so right and we get it so wrong? 😀
