Risk

Risk

A Poem by A. Kim Spradling
"

It's all risky business!

"

Suspended by a thread of hope

Dangling above this jagged slope

Thinking, wondering, what could be

If I fall into this icy sea.

But, there’s no fear as I grasp and grope.

Faith is strong as a binding rope.

Strength fills me up to the very top.

I let go and begin to drop.

More quickly now as I descend

The bottom is a welcome friend.

Downward I plunge into the brisk,

But not without resounding risk.

My grip, it captures the ending knot.

Speculating is it yes or is it not?

Surprise and wonder as I am taken,

Ascending up, conviction unshaken.

It’s YOU, who’s tugged and towed

Safely to this bond we’ve sowed.

Marveling at the warmth that’s found

With feet firmly planted on the ground.

This poem almost made me cry. This explains love that was rejected, and brought back into a couple, and then getting married. It is amazing that you have made this. I see the AABB strategy here that you used. This sounds like a broken heart that can't be fixed, until once you drown in a puddle of water, someone will be there for you, and save you, and then you can make a whole heart. Thank you for reading this,

Well penned, especially the last part it has more smoothness to it.

The last has smoothness to it at the end because faith has prevailed.
