Sharp Cheddar Cheese

Age is something that does not matter unless you are cheese!

Is sharp cheddar cheese sharp

Because it's sharp like a knife?

If you decide to eat it,

Might it threaten your life?

Mom says it's a treat

And is nice to eat,

She's eaten sharp cheese

And is fine!

Her mouth didn't get hurt!

She must be an eating expert!

OR, her mouth is just

Bigger than mine.

My mother loved this poem. She always encouraged me to write. In my former life in Georgia, I was managing computer support teams. I have always written. My mother called me and asked me to write a poem for her called "My Place in the Sun". It is one of my earlier poems posted. I wrote it for her on the day that called. When I moved back here, I found it in a drawer. She so dearly loved the sun and beach just like do. If you can spare a moment read it. It was for her too.

I wrote a new one today called French Fries. They thought it was rather funny as well. I guess because they all love French fries.

lol! This has a very Shel Silverstein vibe to it. Really elicits a good giggle. If you would excuse my red pen action for a moment, I would simply like to tweak the first stanza and writing both pairs of lines as questions. It would make better sense in the overall poem if you do so (and you also get a good playful echo of the two questions). So just to clarify, I mean have the fourth line of Stanza 1 read as a question: "Might it threaten your life?" This is otherwise fantastic! Humorous and witty. Perfect for children entertainment. Well done!
