Emoticon

Emoticon

A Poem by Annabelle
"

Seeing things past your computer monitor.

"

You type in words of

goodwill, dreams and hope.

You put on a mask,

transparent but keyed into

semi reality.

I am all right,

you say.

Trying (yet failing),

You mask your anguish.

How small a font

size 6 cursor

can cover the length

of vertical tears

streaming down;

a waterfall encapsulated by

an intangible

emoticon.
