All over again

All over again

A Poem by Ben Robinson
"

Because the world needs another love poem.

"

All eyes on me,

But my eyes were fixated on you,

I look at all the debris,

I cleaned up after I loved you,

And I’d do it all over again,

I guess I was losing control,

When I went into therapy,

I guess I was in denial,

That love can lie,

All I felt was an empty hole,

My heart knows I’ve been here before,

And the feeling of our high,

Makes me feel so low,

And I lose control,

Every time I smell your cologne.

All eyes on me,

But my eyes were fixated on you,

Thursday nights under the beech tree,

Was the first time I knew,

I loved you,

And I’d do it all over again.

I like the emotion in this, it definitely feels earnest, which is great. The danger is that it could come off as poetry one would write in high school. I would consider changing "cologne" to "perfume" but maybe you have a reason for keeping it "cologne." I like the line "Thursday nights under the beech tree"
