Silver Selene

Silver Selene

A Poem by Bethany
"

A night inspired by the phases of the moon and it’s powerful nature to the planet earth.

"
The moon is out
A waxing crescent
Shining so brightly
A night so luminescent
Would take days to arrive
Nearly three to be precise
Prayers that all survive
Prepared but rolling dice

A distance far from earth
With strength to move the tides
A mother giving birth
With a satellite in her eyes
Enough power to move the ocean
Love spilling over; abundant emotion

Liked very much the vivid imagery that transports one to a dark night gazing at the transfixing moon. The two lines ending verse 1 seem to be both an expression of faith and an acknowledgement of fate. The feminine imagery in verse 2 goes very nicely with the theme, as the moon has traditionally been associated with female energy. The last line seems to reflect the speaker's own feeling in response to the scene. Nice work.
