LET HIM GO

LET HIM GO

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

Lies, deceit

"

LET HIM GO

My muse of the cosmos

sucks me out of the cradle

our skin, blue from fright

she purges his lies, deceit

tethers my broken spirit

through misty clouds

to a veiled pose

unable to trace me

I squint through broken shadows

to retrieve his face

she whispers his devilish ethos

treasure afresh, she mutters

if he deludes you, let him go

My mind visualized tethers of loss , wrapped so tight around your veil I could just make out your pose. Frightened. Defeated. Excellent imagery!

All people should have such a muse. Maybe they do actually; many people are able to feel when certain things about a partner are just not right. Then is the time to seriously explore options. Sadly, many do not, possibly out of fear. Eventually, they live to regret not listening to their intuition. Go with your gut.

Hello dear Betty and you are welcome.
geez, when everyone deceives us including our muse.
It is time for us to fly...living with total mistrust...hard to do.

I feel in the song by Steppenwolf, Monster.
"America, where are you now, don't you care about your sons and daughters?"
We can't fight alone against the monster...and the lies and deceit are winning the battle.
this is such an important poem, Betty.

dear Betty... there surely must have been a better way. However, we are where we are... and how do we mend the torn fences and loss of accounting. Perhaps there is some rethinking... very late, but nonetheless worth beginning to mend the undoing... with our heart and soul-- we can insist on doing "Good" and keeping out the "Evil"; Our children deserve a Brighter future with Laws to forbid the Unjust Violence and support the Laws that provide a Safe and Secure environment. This is what America is all about. Amen

Dear Betty, your muse is on fire with this short write. And how right she is. Anyone who breaks a person's spirit doesn't deserve their loving heart. Let them go for sure. Sound advice.

'deceit tethers my broken spirit'...wow...what an impact, along with devilish ethos.
