An Echo Returns

In a young man's dreams are many things,

But one he remembers is of a girl, sweet,

Trusting and believing in all he thinks,

Like he's the creator's very own head.

Many a season they spend together,

Bringing all that's happened and then,

All that's yet to come to pass with them,

Living as they did in a place that had no time,

No world to speak of but simply its mime,

And there was love there, pure and true,

Until the day the boy grew up and found,

The earth that was already created, old,

And another girl in it like his love's echo.

He began a new relations and made her wife,

In a life that set aside his dreams of echo.

Someday, she'll return, he said to himself,

To share with him knowledge of the self,

That he discovers in the physical, real,

To take it to the dream, her home and bed.

When such a day comes, we'll all be her,

Living in all of the universe, proper,

To a woman's shimmerings of life in Utopia.
