A Poem by Chandler
"

How the world tries to label us and determine who we are and the struggle along with it.

"
Everyone is so quick to judge
They all give us labels for the world to see
To most we are nothing more than a name
How are we supposed to figure out who to be?

Everyone is telling us that we are acting wrong
Or the way we live our lives isn’t right
This leaves us confused, and shattered
With no hope of figuring ourselves out in sight

We go out trying to find our true selves
But the world will never let the outcome occur
For they are trying to mold you into “who you should be”
Leaving our future scrambled, our true selfs in a blur

We won’t even know how to act normal
When the world keeps telling us to change who we are
It’s ripping us apart
And it’s going to leave a nasty scar

I find that it portrays very well the society we live in.
I feel like the last 2 verses don't rise to the occasion, so to say.
Overall, I enjoyed the poem very much.
