Urban Renewal

Urban Renewal

A Poem by Curiosity and Black Angel
"

Wouldn't it be nice if we could burn pessimism and all the corruption of the world and begin with a fresh plate?

"

Urban Renewal

I have a brilliant idea,
I don’t know why a person
more brilliant than I hasn’t thought
of this brilliant of an idea.

Let’s burn down infected cities and rebuild

everything over again. Brilliant!

We’ll force all the negativity to either
die or squirm into the unknown.

We’ll burn down the schools and
venture home by home, setting ablaze
to all the pessimism of the city.

We will burn down all the police stations
and hospitals to put an end to corruption.

We will lead the charge into infected neighborhoods
and burn down gang fronts and hideouts.

We will walk the stairs of City Hall
and burn it to ashes.

We will burn down the Hall of Records,
obliterating all recognition of this town of infection.

I'm with you on that! Rebuilding is necessary ahahaha. This is great. I have thought of this idea a lot, but only in the back of my mind, one of those ideas wehre you just Kind of have it, but can't really describe it...? if that makes any sense at all ahah. well ANYWAYS, you described it really well. I enjoyed this. You said it matter-of-factly without frills, but that is perfectly fine and suited the message well.

*High five*.

If this is Urban renewal, then what is the destruction of humanity? It was my understanding that burning destoryed everything, even organisims. What's to rebuild and who's to do it? It is a great and brilliant thought, but one not feasible. But if possible, I would say "Bring it on!"

I like the idea of being rid of the "negative". Still, the poem is called "Urban Renewal" so perhaps you could add some lines relating to that? What would everyone build in its place? :o)

Peace,

"We will walk the stairs of City Halland burn it to ashes." oh how i wish for this to happen. a dark but somewhat beautiful poem. of longing to start again. it seems we've screwed this country up so much, we need a revolution. that's what this sounds like to me, a revolution. burn it all to the ground, start fresh, start new. a great poem, full of power.
