A fragile light in darkness

A fragile light in darkness

A Poem by Death Stalker
"

inspired by A.D Wilson's profile picture.

"
I'm sitting in the darkness,
where no external light
can pierce through the dark

my heart, however...
have a light, but it's so fragile
even a single breath, a single draft
can easily blow it out

I struggle to keep the light
alight... but it's hard
as the darkness
easily blows it out,
no sparks survive.

I cry for help
the sounds quickly get ripped
to shreds, the darkness laughs
at me

I cry some more... allowing the darkness to take over
to become my friend.
As I absorb the darkness, I go on to spread the darkness

I liked this verse a lot. Overall good poem about the darkness and how it consumes you.

I do like this.
i wish it evoked more emotion out of me.. think the errors in this distracted away from the actual content.

You used "that" unnecessarily in the 1st n 2nd stanza.
it also should be, "my heart, however has a light.." instead of have.
shred should be shreds...
...little things like that. do be careful of your wording.
