A Fear of the UnknownA Poem by LovecraftFear of how the universe really is.
A Fear of the Unknown, vast cosmos,
Thronged by eldritch entities of ungodly power, With the ability to destroy and slaughter The planet. They watch us from the depths of space, uncaring And almost never truly notice us, Save for when they rarely do. From the stars they arrive, ravenous, Craving murder and destruction as Its own reward. These "Beings" urge madness ever forward, Terrifying to behold, Slaughtering the world. To them, the Human race are but ants, To be toyed and killed accordingly. We can do nothing but suffer an ignominious end.
