Rook of Independence

i love chess but there's alot of poems about people being pawns and its getting annoying so i made this :3

i'm not the pawn in your foul game
i am the rook that has a name

the rook who knows how to kill
the pawns who are too weak to know thrill

the only rook that takes no command
no matter how much the black king demands

i will never learn my limits
yet the enemy always submits

i don't need my own army to win
all i need is ambition and a cocky grin

i need nothing but myself
to fly in silence and stealth

no one should feel weak enough
to think they need friends to feel tough
