Only For Her

Only For Her

A Poem by Lady of the Ring

Dogs are barking.

Sheep are grazing.

Birds are singing.

Mom’s still sleeping.

Memories dancing in my head.

Remembering all she said.

I can’t shake the feeling of dread.

Mom’s still in bed.

I can’t think, nothing’s clear.

There is only fear.

That the end is near.

Mom’s still here.

I need to hold it together,

If only for her.
