When There Were None

When There Were None

A Poem by Rana
"

Contradictory feelings

"
Walking solo amongst a crowd,
With numerous people all around,
Words, distinguishable, float in the space,
Whirling in a whirlpool of other sounds.

Reading voicelessly in a peaceful den,
Reality fabricated by the writer's pen
Recognising friends, teaching oneself
Rapture encases, solitude ain't dull.

No form of intelligence nearby,
Nothing but the clear blue sky,
Nameless sea beneath the steamboat,
Nourishing an onward flight.

Million miles away from the mass,
Meditating, awaiting contentment.
Murmur of gulls, racoons, squirrels
Madenning feels the loneliness.

Wherever you are, whatever you do
Relish the company, share and care
Noise of your species, the comfort is rare
More than you think, more than it's fair.

I love the way you explain everything and it flows together all very well. Also easily understood, honestly reminds me of trying to read a book while everyone else around me is in a totally different world. Awesome poem!

beautiful, is it not, to experience that :) being in different worlds in the same world. Thanks so m.. read more
for some loneliness is painful....for others it is being alone, but not lonely....

and we welcome the solitude...and company doesn't always come in the form of human companionship.

i sense introversion, i share these thoughts. Thank you so much for passing by! :)
Yes yes, Properly apt description to your poem 'contradictory feelings'
But i really would enjoy the nature's lap and 2-3 best people around, not crowd
Really liked it :)

Thanks much, Pryde :)
We humans are such a mass of contradictions, and your poem captures this perfectly! Sometimes it's good to be alone, sometimes it's good to have company. Beautifully written poem, thanks for sharing this!

Oh that's great, glad you could relate, thank you Mauricio! :)
First, it's all W's, then all R's, then all N's, then all M's, then WRNM. It definitely brought everything together. I admired the tone and exquisite word choices

"Wherever you are, whatever you do
Relish the company, share and care
Noise of your species, the comfort is rare
More than you think, more than it's fair." - favorite stanza

Keep up the good work! :)
