Ups and Frowns

Ups and Frowns

A Poem by Bluebird

Recovery is ongoing

There often is no end

Many things i require

To help my head mend

Life is undulating

Like the geography of the land

Like the cycle of the seasons

Like the weather on my hand

So if nature is ever changing

Why should i be so still

Noting my character and journey

Will take many quivers of  the quill

Today's path is more even

My battles far less raw

The result of all I've learnt

From the tools within my drawer

One lesson I must remember

Is not to keep it shut

Those tools I will rely on

To help me stay robust

the experiences we share through poetry can really be helpful to others...and too often those who write about very personal trauma...especially when done well enough to make it universal---will hide their work in drawers....never allow anyone to see it. that is unfortunate...because the writing is cathartic...and the reading by others can be that for them.

So true to form these wise words of yours Bluebird. I find each day a learning experience gained on the pathway of life. We learn, we grow as we take on each experience and place them in a storehouse to be retrieved in the future.

Really kind of you to say so

One of the lessons people never learn is to keep those tools safe and know they're always there. Every journey will have lessons. Each stanza is important in this.
