All a dream

All a dream

A Poem by Bluefire

Shadows drape beneath the clouds,
Pink against the sea colored sky.
Like my cheeks when you’d sneak into my shop,
Or my eyes when you left.
The boardwalk falls into darkness,
Like stairs descending into the indigo night.
Words drift through my ears,
And echo years into the abyss.
“I will miss you”
Is far more hurtful to bare,
Than to pretend it was all a dream.
