Another Word

Another Word

A Poem by M. L. Zane
"

What consumes you?

"
Ice.
Thunder.
Steel.
Pick your word. I'm fresh out.
Swing the hammer,
fire in the pit,
sparking darkly down below.
Every hit,
another step,
pushing forward,
rivets in, blood slowing.
Adrenaline pumps, calmly.
They're just words now.
I still need five thousand more.
Cool the iron,
press the bars,
water sizzles with steam.
Door's open.
Step outside,
my child.

It's been five days now in the workshop. Sometimes, you just need to throw words on the page to recharge your batteries. Enjoy.

Interpretation:

Words. Creation. Input. Personality. Forging. Thoughts.

The child. Forged from words. A creation. The word-speakers, the creator (s).
What will be your legacy? What will your words create? Influence? Build or destroy?

Nice work. Not sure if I would use the punctuation you chose to use, but I struggle choosing my own punctuation. 95/100

The creative process is exhausting, we can only ever push so far, then we simply have to pause for breath. I really only write poetry, it comes in short enough bursts not to damage me. I would love one day to write a book, so many thoughts floating in my head, but I don't have the stamina.

Enjoyed this very much, and good luck with your writing.

Beccy.

It isn't out yet, but I assure you I'll open many floodgates to spread the word when it arrives.
