Wish I Was

Wish I Was

A Poem by BL

Wish I was the breeze
Floating by
Gliding over land and sea
Free and easy
Seeing you there
I would kiss your face

Wish I was an Eagle
On warm golden air
An overlord of bronze
With all seeing eyes
I would swoop down
And take you to the clouds

Wish I was the ocean
With power all around
Ever fresh and surging
Forever at your shores
Trying to reach you and
Dying on your beaches

You brought a good flow, meaning-full imagery, and sense of heart with this one.

I love all the references to nature. There's so much to be found in the way the natural world works and moves our emotions. I really liked the last line.

Oh--what power that would be--wonderful last stanza!
If wishes were life and always granted
--to be picked up and carried away.
