When people lie and cheat and play games with someones heart....

When Nothing Matters

Lies and betrayal fall victim to those who stay,

While the dark ones set out with others to play.

Leaving people bleedy out without any care,

Games and deception with a blank facial stare.

Proclaiming a love and saying the words true,

As they slowly twist the knife to run you thru.

Laughing as though all was by your own hand,

Bloodless beings with no heart built out of sand.

They call themselves honest but in truth they deny,

Proclaiming love and deepness but all is the lie.

Hurting the good people one by one they do well,

Not even a care they put others through living hell.

Now I am bleeding my lifeline is becoming less,

I can not undo what was done or second guess.

My heart ripped apart my being in shatters...

This is me when nothing else matters.

I love your powerfully stated lament about how many times people are not true to others. In your message it seems like this heartlessness is being done out of spite or on purpose. But in my lifetime I’ve decided most people do this becuz they don’t know what a dedicated friendship or loving relationship looks like. They are only operating in the moment, according to their immediate needs. Half the people (in my opinion) are incapable of empathy. As a writer, I believe we are more empathetic than most, so this is what we want & expect. That’s why it’s such a bitter pill to swallow, as you describe so aptly using interesting analogies & blunt-force honesty (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I think everyone gets let down or hurt at least once, if their lucky, only once.
Though all of us experience this pain, I believe some of us feel it much deeper .
At least I feel that do.

I think pain or being down happens daily at some point but we all overlook a majority of it and pass it by. Then there is that one heavy shock that reminds us we have feelings.
