Heat

Heat

A Poem by Jordan Avechuco
"

Its been awhile, I hope you enjoy.

"
Here I stand,
Like a lake in the winter,
I'm frozen within myself.
Your warmth is the only thing that frees me,
With every touch my fears fade and I can move again.
This heat that you create is unlike any I've felt before.
We could build this fire,
This fire to light our way through the night but the will of others keeps you out of reach.
Feel the ice roll off my hands and watch my color return,
I've been humming this song for fifty years now and still the night moves the same.
The thunder is coming,
Take my hand and together we'll run through this summer heat and into the storm.
