The Waves

The Waves

A Poem by Brad P

Staring at my reflection in the water,
Softer than I remember,
Go back to that September, hear the crashing waves,
The water's moving fast, I recalled that crash for days,
It appeared that I was drowning--
But I was safe upon the beach,
At least a few feet from the water's reach,
Why did I step closer?
And then closer still, the strong current came in for the kill.
I took a breath, then relaxed as the water came upon me,
I felt it's strength, I felt it's fury,
I felt the cold, thought the chill would cure me of my thoughts,
But it just lured me until I was lost amongst the waves...

I loved this! Very descriptive and i can imagine every word you say. I can personally connect to what you are saying, maybe your overwhelmed with your own thoughts, maybe not thinking right, or maybe it's just something that is upsetting you. Keep writing, to get these thoughts and emotions out!
