Eclipses and Faulty Wires

Eclipses and Faulty Wires

A Poem by Darren Brown
"

Some interesting articles found their way to me recently, resulting in this. Themes of prayer versus meditation, psychological projection, the limitations of our senses, and handling dualism.

"

Read about an old man blind from birth,

I can’t imagine what he saw in dreams,

but I’m sure it was beautiful.

Underwent surgery at forty-nine,

hoping to finally see the light.

Killed himself two years later.

Saw a video of a young woman deaf from birth,

I can’t imagine what she heard in dreams,

But I’m sure it was beautiful.

Underwent surgery at twenty-nine,

hoping to finally hear herself laugh.

It was the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen, and heard.

About
I use poetry as a means to come to a deeper understanding of myself, and the world that I'm a part of. So most of my work is a combination of introspective and extrospective, figuring out how I relate.. more..
