White Flag Pretense

White Flag Pretense

A Poem by Darren Brown
"

These days, the idea of global peace is considered first-class naivety, whilst psychological egoism is necessary over-indulgence.

"

When I feel you I’m dreaming

You are a kiss on the neck from a ghost

You are a painting kids laughed at in crèche

High school toilet graffiti disorders

Leeches tether me to shoulders of stone

I am a silver coin

thrown in a well

that burrows straight through Earth

to her core where I’ll melt.

About
I use poetry as a means to come to a deeper understanding of myself, and the world that I'm a part of. So most of my work is a combination of introspective and extrospective, figuring out how I relate.. more..
