The Air Up Here

The Air Up Here

A Poem by Breeza

Hopelessness

hovers

around dark and golden crowns.

Up here

the air is so thin

it keeps us giddy.

Fleeting moments

of a place

we know we'll never reach.

So,

we just run

through the dappled sunlight

and try to warm our skin.

Your words are so full of freedom and light, floating as it were around us as we read. It makes one long to be up there too... :)

A lovely poem, Bree. A feeling and of loss and futility resonates through this. Great flow.

"around dark and golden crowns"
Love it. Your ambigious flow is so perfect.
The shortness of the poem is it's strength.
Keep this one in. Just name the damn thing.
