The Resurrected Angel

(For Dhananjay Vaidya my inspiration)

A life content as a servant,

the kids always there lifts his spirits.

Work coming and going

sometimes making, sometimes breaking.

In the coolness of the evening

another hapless night.

Looking for meaning

searching for more.

A spontaneous whim, an unlikely change

darker paths, somehow avoided.

Random passing, a chance is taken

not expecting a heart to waken.

Years had passed since his last falling,

yet he recognized a familiar calling.

He remembered take it easy, take it slow,

he felt a touch and just had to know.

Very little effort it seemed to take,

the kind of life these two could make.

With both hearts lifted both so giving,

they finally found new purpose in living.

Protected from taking so many wrong paths,

what these two found were each other’s halves.

Unobstructed these angels were freed,

on the lookout for others in need.
