Wisdom

Wisdom

A Poem by Birdie

The doors were open before you moved,
Concealing nothing but their use.
With sleeping eyes and a numbing touch,
Did you think you would accomplish much?
Before the morning heard the news,
That Kings and Queens don't like to lose,
The sun was fair and gave the light,
To those who knew the darkest night.
Through parched lips and a diamond tongue,
Could you tell the blissful young,
That there is anger and there is not,
Peace for those who never fought?
Could you say that there's no use,
For fragile skin that does not bruise?
