WITH THE MISTAKES OF THIS GOVERNMENT

I WOULD NEVER GO COLD

COVER MYSELF WITH BUSH'S WAR IN IRAQ

MAYBE LEWINSKY'S MOANS COURTESY OF BILL

OR HOW ABOUT THE BROKEN LEVEES IN NEW ORLEANS

OF MAYBE I SHOULD STAY WARM

WITH THE FACT THAT TWO YEARS AFTER KATRINA

AND THINGS STILL AREN'T RIGHT

AND TAXES HAVE THE TENDENCY TO BE 9%

OR MAYBE GAS BEING $5 A GALLON

NOW WHOSE FAULT IS THAT

MAYBE WE SHOULD CUDDLE UNDER

THE BOMBING OF THE TWIN TOWERS

TAKEN INNOCENT LIVES

AND YOU RE-ELECTED THIS A*****E AGAIN

WHO'S RESPONSIBLE FOR THOSE WHO DIED

MAYBE I SHOULD JUST BATHE IN THE WHITE MAN'S SOUL

DOWNING THE BLACK MAN

THE NEXT PRESIDENT WE'LL KNOW

LAUGH AT THE FACT THAT RICE WAS SHOPPING

WHEN MAYBE WE COULD HAVE BEEN GETTING HELP

INSTEAD OF LOOSING INNOCENT LIVES

AND THE WAY WE'RE LIVING STILL AINT RIGHT

DEVASTATION IS STILL A CASE

AND TRAILORS ARE NOVELTIES

I like the way you begin you poem with a keeping warm analogy, and maintain the idea throughout; it gets the reader thinking both about the numerous mistakes, and how people are struggling to keep warm due to the issues you go on to mention.
Good, moderate amount of subtle rhyme throughout
e.g. "DIED...LIVES...RIGHT...HIGH...EYES".
Well done for creating this strongly voiced, political piece.
