(for) The Birds

(for) The Birds

A Poem by Brittany

One-by-one

Struggle those EyEs open

face swallow and swallowing, gritty

amber imposter light

fixtures with a wax-seal apathy

towards another Sunday's Eve

Two-by-two

Thoughts rattle, jingle-jangle loose

foreign coins deep in

disturbed pockets of a mind hosted/

wasted with dead kitten sympathy

for those less inclined

Three-by-three

Ribbons all tainted, spiral out and

burn away a cig-a-rette drag

on and with post-modern frustration, as

moral-code decays around

sealed-wax lips

Four-by-four

clik-clik-clik-clik

sounds of keys protesting, against

tips of fingers busy in haste

baking the mind-pie ala Mode

served warm for the right ones

to choke on

Five-by-five

A product mantra of

two-plus-two, suggests

safety in a struggling-amber grit light

where burning drags swallow all

frustration, sympathy, and apathy

(in) those open eyes

Author's Note

Brittany
This is just an experimental poem I came up with on a Saturday night, listening to Thom Yorke. I was heavy into stop-motion films and the surreal arts so this was merely a piece out of influence. It's about writing, words, and how other people percieve/see them. Ironic.

I guess we need to be clued in to what occasioned this pot-pourri of words and images... fascinating but impenetrable!

Enchanting, even though I have no idea what it's about.
