I Am Carmen

I Am Carmen

A Poem by Bryad Polis Valentino
"

Do you know who I am? If you do, I love you, but I will not have you, for I live to dance and be wild.

"
I am Carmen,

A wild gypsy woman,

You can't control me,

Do you know who I am?

If you don't, you're missing out,

I can dance better than anyone,

Men want me, I follow my heart,

My heart says I can't be controlled.

He knows me,

They called me w***e.

He didn't.

He's the man who I dance for.

He's not a liar.

He would never love a woman,

Who wasn't named Carmen.

"Do you know who I am?"

I am a Gaulish tribe member, but also the descendent of the French Knights. RIP the Knights Templar I will avenge you.

"Yennefer's chosen goes out, determined to save the last elf. He had developed a conscience, and forfeited his own fate to save the girl he once protected, much like a father would a daughter."

Good. You have good taste then. Women are goddesses...we are wolves. We can have them, because our minds are what makes us strong. Let that be our little secret, brother...he he.

There was me thinking the 'Brazilian Bombshell'!
I enjoyed this fiesty piece told in the protagonist defiant, self assured tone in a free flowing freeverse.
