Distance

Distance

A Poem by Bullet Soul

If distance had it's own sound
I would hope no one was around

To witness my screams
Of crushed hopes, of ruined dreams

If life had it simple answers ; to all of it's disasters
I'd leave the fighting to the masters

If death was but a devil's tale
I'd spread my wings and never fail

Never would I fall to the ground
If distance had it's own sound

If life had it's own reason
I'd love every single season

If love had it's own voice
Would it be so hard, to make the choice?

To open up your broken heart
To take a risk, right from the start?

If the world were a perfect place
I'd continue to run, every race

But, dear, listen close
For distance is closer than most

For love can travel far
Love can touch every star

For love has it's very own sound
Two hearts beating, closely bound

For distance has no match on love
A gift of the Lord who reigns from above
