Her Mystery

things aren't always as they seem.

She's a mystery, what more can I say?

I learn more and more about her, each wonderful day.

She is truly amazing.

At times, I catch myself gazing.

But tonight was different, it took me by surprise.

The message I received from those lovely blue eyes;

was significantly different, from all the other times.

They insisted she was happy, and brought smiles to her face;

But the more I looked into those eyes, empty took happy's place.

I can still see that blank stare, that occupied her space.

She told me she was fine, and flashed a smile for some proof;

but that could not convince me, that she was telling me the truth.

She then became real quiet, and her body remained so still.

Her smiles became scarce, as if she had lost the will.

Constantly I checked on her, to make sure she was ok;

but her face told me the opposite of what her words would say.

I could see that deep inside those eyes, she wasn't crying help.

She was still quite happy, but just wasn't feeling well.

So instead of trying to fix her, like anyone else would do.

I just simply offered up the words, "I'm always here for you."
