Stuck in a Dream

Stuck in a Dream

A Poem by Sbernie18

Done is what you couldn’t comprehend,

As she walks to the door and you try to pretend.

When you close your eyes you see her face,

You grab her hand and slowly embrace.

You slip into a dream when she’s always there.

You touch her laugh and stop to care.

She smiles so loud and takes your soul,

Away to hide and slowly unroll.

Away to her home is where you dream,

For one more dance slowly downstream.

You drink to her and you drink to be.

You grasp your will and try to see.

You shout her name but nothing comes out,

But she still turns around with no such doubt.

She drops your heart and gives you joy,

You hold her hand but she’s so coy.

She tells you it’s the truth but what was a lie,

You never seemed to care, you never asked why.

Everything is a dream when its impossible to bear with it. That's part of growing up...that's part of growing out of love.
