Everything I Am (Not)

Everything I Am (Not)

A Poem by Bushra Naqshbandi
"

Written for a contest asking for poems based on personal experience. Just trying to set the dilemma out on paper that we all face! :)

"
I stand at the boundary
With freedom to go where I please:
Sanity or Insanity?
I am the chosen one of both -
Unhappy with who I am
And happily continuing to be the same.

A colossal mess of contradictions -
I am who I am Not:
With every Intention to Change,
And the utmost Effort to be the Same:
How will I be who I do not want to
But am striving to become any way?
