Sounds of Winter

 

 

Bitter cold nostalgia

Keeps me awake - I need this memory to fade.

So like the frost that bites at the skin,

Forever my bruised heart is broken.

 

There was no light in your blue eyes,

When the fires of desire that warmed us

Burned the colors of my world into ashes

Remains of black and grey.

 

I write away the pain you've caused,

As I revel in the sounds of winter.

The brutal silence that came from your lips,

Frozen within my thoughts.

Beautiful write, as always. Its amazing how seasons come with emotional and often relationship associations. It goes to show that all the emotions and moments in our life come and shift and change and go just like the seasons of the world. Eventually the iciness of winter will spring forth with new hope, before a summer of new love and experience. Be prepared, for there is always the chance that it will Fall again.
