Agony

Agony

A Poem by *~*Butterfly Kisses*~*
"

Dear Agony, please let go of me.

"

Plunging into my own deep despair,

Head beneath the water.

I lay breathless, dwelling in the dark

Suffocating in neverending loneliness.

Red ink bounds words to my heart

As I try to write away all this agony.

I have written endless letters in any attempt

To move on without you by my side.

Vicious images cut through thoughts,

Holding my ears to drown out the screams.

Carry me to gates of heaven

Where you whisper softly in the moonlight.

Bring me back to the days of light,

When this house once felt like home.

Sad, and full of pain! Very well written!

Yes.This was very well done as an avid writer of such dark topics I am impressed with this poem's uncanniness in capturing the feel of despondence. Your third stanza did it for me, it simultaneously summed up your pain and your hope to be released from the clutches of agony. Well done.

Very powerful piece!

Vicious images cut through thoughts,
Holding my ears to drown out the screams.
Carry me to gates of heaven
Where you whisper softly in the moonlight.

Awesome

Speechless....

Your last two lines kicked me up and out of my chair.
