A Poem by *~*Butterfly Kisses*~*

My sleepless nights.

Shivering spine tingles with fright

Knock, knocking on my chamber door.

The dance of fright and be afraid

Shadows waltz upon the walls.

Insanity rages in serpeant's delight

Abducted by the fear of glowing eyes

Chains and burning needles

Stinging claws that scratch against skin.

The jackyll's hysterical laughter,

Echoes through my mind as I try hard

To return to some sense of reality

A calming dreamland that awaits me.

I like the description of trying to find sleep. I like the description of wild thoughts and places.
"The dance of fright and be afraid
Shadows waltz upon the walls."
Good to find sleep. A very good ending to a excellent poem.

I could feel the insanity...clever writing. Insomnia never looked so good. ;)

I love it! The second line reminded me of Gun's & Rose's song "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" because it sounded like the line "Knock, knock, knockin' on heavens do-o-or (HEY, HEY, HEY, HEY, HEY!!!)" (gotta love that screamo part).

But anyways, this is totally going in my library for sure :)

This is a very interesting poem. It makes me picture a small child who is afraid and alone. Nice write. Well done. (:

Our own minds can be the harshest place we can dwell. Often not by choice. Great write

this is different from your usual writing.....

but you've pulled it off quite well

Sometimes, I get terrified while falling asleep too. Everything seems so creepy, though the dreams are where I feel better (unless it is a nightmare, of course). The powerful words, descriptions, are great to read, leaves a shivering fear, lights the torment, and well, great job as always.
