Russian Roulette

Russian Roulette

A Poem by CSK

Our minds at the gallows

Our hearts in a mess

Burn those who follow

And crucify the rest

There’s none to save

And none to keep

Your freedom’s gone

And none will grieve

A set of numbers

Across the table

With pills for minds

More wish for fable

To live again

To die once more

To sing of praise

To blind the lore

A list of rules

To calm your heart

And lies among

To stay corrupt

So passes now

The loaded gun

To cross unto

Forbidden road

Your passion lies

Within a thimble

The maker soon

Falls and crumbles

Nice rhym and rythm, it reads aloud very well. A fun darl poem for me to read, as I tend to see life as a gamble and have often wondered at how much day to day life is like russian roulette, yet we frown upon it. The results might not be as imminent as the bullet, but damn canb it hurt a hell of a lot more if the chamber you land on isn't an empty! I love the thought provoked by this piece, well written.
