The Fox and the Phoenix: The Epilogue

The Fox and the Phoenix: The Epilogue

A Poem by CSK

Her stilettos don’t break,

And his songs are still sung;

She listens to the words,

And thinks of what was done.

Her ending hasn’t risen,

And his beginning has begun;

She peers into the mirror,

And thinks of what was done.

No tears for this story,

No sorrow for them to numb;

They look out to the world,

And think of what was done.

Their lovers standing nearer,

They have no will to run;

Their sins are not forgotten,

The cure is what was done.

I'm trying to figure out how "their lovers standing nearer" plays into it all (is it the right "their"?). But other than that, this is magical and whimsical, and utterly enjoyable! Well done!
