Summer

Summer

A Poem by Chris C.
"

My first attempt at a more traditional style of poetry

"

Travel down the dusty road

Stop and stagger through the wode

Kneel and slake your thirst by stream

Bask a while in sunlight's gleam

Climb the tree, rest in its shade

Search for faeries in dusky glade

Eve is falling, chasing day

Hither come! We must away

The house is warm as love's embrace

The fire bright as lovers grace

So rest yourself 'neath quilted seams

Beckoned now to the land of dreams.
