The love that feeds my needs

I know that times get hard,
And things can bring u down.
Women mess with ya head
When they start playing around
I know it’s hard,
Cause I been there to
Caught in a similar situation.
I don’t lie its true.
You think people don’t get it,
Cause they have never loved
Wonder why we take it so hard,
Wonder why we seeking help from above
Praying to the lord,
Asking for a simple explanation.
Why did we get betrayed?
As a result of pure dedication?
It makes u wanna give up,
But it hard to do.
How can u never want that feeling,
Of a love so true?
It keeps you warm at night
When the suns gone astray
When all u need is that love,
But she turned and walked away.
All the memories mean nothing.
All the laughs are in the past.
No smiles or kisses
Tears the only things that last.
I spent all my nights,
Wondering where I went wrong,
If I treated her better.
Would there be a need for this song?
But I can’t forget her
Can’t get her off my mind,
Now I’m searchin in the dark
For a love of the same kind…

THIS IS A GREAT POEM! IT HAS A UNIVERSAL SUBJECT THAT APPLIES TO ALMOST EVERY HUMAN BEING. I LIKE YOUR STRAIGHT-FORWARD STYLE, NO ENIGMA'S HERE! THE RHYME SCHEME IS GOOD, IT FLOWS WELL AND THE TONE CONVEYS SOME SORROW, BUT IT ISN'T MAUDLIN. ALL IN ALL A GREAT WRITE! BARBARA

Well, this is refreshing! Are these lyrics? I liked the switch between rhyme and prose, it works well here. This is a sad piece and I just want to say that someone special is irreplaceable.
Try not to use U...but the word 'you'...much better.
