"

My tears to McHale and Jennie's beautiful suicide

"

Oath XI

Draft 1

By: Chase L. Currie

Jennie bit a noose

                On the way down

With laughter in her eyes

                Dress at her knees

The stringing of a guitar

                Told her balled of

A young doll with stars in her eyes

                Too bad the Devil tipped

His hat at poor dead Jennie

Meet the end like Ol’ Miss McHale

Jennie wanted to be known in the full sky

Ol’ Miss McHale ran over the edge to be omitted

The Devil chuckles at the photo -

‘What a lovely suicide, beautiful in a flash’

All the while this dull poet

                Who is I

Writes of poor dead Jennie and

Her endless dreams fading with hanging feet

‘Death by hope’

                Read the note.
