Oath XXVIII

Draft 1

By: Chase L. Currie

Tonight -

                We drank down the pills,

                No heed of the agony,

Where we won’t see the morning daze,

Tonight -

We f**k like star crossed lovers,

Keeping the Poet empty in our hands,

Locking our love in each other’s moans,

Tonight -

                Lite up the laughing smoke,

Breathed in the tiny sun of stardust,

All there are our voices in a hushed dark,

Tonight -

Our love is only a star,

                It’s a short as Fall,

                Dead in a tomb,

Today -

I laid our night to rest,

Watching in the truth at the end,

                We never loved each other.

Light up that laughing smoke every night.

This is killer:

                Dead in a tomb,

I'll be back to read more.
