The Hardest Part

The Hardest Part

A Poem by Laconic Meraki

For her, saying goodbye to him was the hardest part.
Collecting every single piece of her now shattered heart.
The world she knew crashes around her, like waves upon the rocks.
Her "forever" now simply memories she put up in a box.
She cursed cupid for he shot where he aimed.
Even though they said their goodbyes, scars will forever remain.

This is an exquisite expression of how hard it can be to close the connection with some people we have loved (((HUGS)))

Now that I look at this writing in a new perspective!!
Don't want scars, don't promise your heart to another. In doing so, you give them a knife to stab you with.

If you open your heart to someone, you're asking to get it back bruised, broken, and beaten. Not worth it to me.
