Blinded

Blinded

A Poem by Christa Raelyn

Once upon a time, I clung onto every word he ever said.
But when I took off the 2nd blind fold, I realized the signs I carelessly misread.

I couldn't turn back and run for the hills, It was then too late.

Trust the timing for it is everything and you can't change or alter your chosen fate.

PROCEED WITH CAUTION IF YOU DARE. IF YOU ARE UNSURE PLEASE BEWARE:

FOR silver tounges that hiss and speak to decieve.
Behind hypnotizing eyes, the most chaotic demons reside.
Hiding -just waiting to be set free.

We lived happily ever after. The devil and me.

Loved the ending Christa! We always seem to see things a moment too late, realize the evil just a second after the bite. Though, the lesson is a good one if we take something we've learned and proceed with caution in the future. I liked the snake reference here alot. Nice!

You have this posted two times . . . the other version feels more skimpy, this one more fulsome. I would take down the other version. The narrator in this poem feels like he/she is all too eager to follow the devil. I believe half the relationships we enter into can be considered as being "with the devil" -- people who grate on us, but who we must be civil toward for whatever reasons. Thought-provoking poem! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

This is good! Kind of chilling, but very entertaining. Well done Christa.

almost like Eve with the Serpent...and as the song said "it's too late to turn back now"

i like the parallel to the Garden of Eden, but how we can fall for the wrong people...
and be basking in the heat...that burns the heck out of us.

Some guys do indeed have silver tongues. Unfortunately, they are often balanced by black hearts.

Thank you maam
The devil is in the detail.
It makes you more ready for the next encounter, guns blazing.
