Make More Sense Than Dollars

Make More Sense Than Dollars

A Poem by DJ

Closed eyes do not see,

hard hearts do not feel,

humanity a word,

seemingly unreal.

Poverty eats children,

greed consumes the rich,

the young fight elder's battles,

and end up in a ditch.

Racism is rampant,

although all blood runs red,

far too many people,

wishing they were dead.

Money, too much value,

not enough on human life,

abuse all too common,

causing pain and strife.

Open eyes to see,

soften hearts to feel,

humanity a word,

that we can make come real.

No one should be faceless,

all should have a name,

place no dollar signs on them,

try to cause no pain.

Try to feed the hungry,

give a second glance,

if it was you in their place,

you would want a chance.

Change is possible,

it has to start with me,

in order for my children,

to grow up young and free.

Innocent eyes see all,

untarnished hearts do care,

no one is born with hatred,

please don't install it there.

A wholesome, poetic presentation, yes, our children are our future so begin as we mean to go on, we are all brothers & sisters!
