Man Within

Man Within

A Poem by Caleu Andrade

Like a chameleon.
I've changed with my enemies.
Like a sheep in wolf clothing.
I learned from the best.
I once wore the uniform.
I once salivated when the war trumpets sang.
Yes what you see is what you get.
Remember i am only giving what I know.
What set men like Crazy Horse apart.
Wasn't his status.
It wasn't his battle skills.
It wasn't even his rank.
It was his ability to blend.
To be a man , doesn't mean you beat your chest.
To be a man is to understand the difference ,
between your ego and your confidence.
Your ego is the bull.
People see you, they avoid you.
Once your back is turned.
You are nothing but a target.
Your confidence is unspoken.
It's the "I know who i am posture."
Confidence unlike the bull can felt.
Confidence can be seen.
Confidence is the "look" without the challange.
Ego is the horns.
Confidence is the matador.
With each thrash.
With each bellowing snort.
The matador holds his ground,
His swords, not his strength.
His calmness is.
The bull will always put a hell of a fight.
The matador, arranges the meeting.
